As many of you will have already seen from our social media accounts, but it is with great sadness that I share the news with you that Colin Brookes, who has served with Rotherham Foodbank since the start of 2014, passed away on Wednesday evening after sustaining a broken leg in a fall.
Colin was in the foodbank as recently as Tuesday and was an incredible and much loved member of our team. He was one of the most recognisable public faces of Rotherham Foodbank as he did our supermarket collections, was our connection with New York Bagel Company and one of our main delivery drivers during the COVID period.
He was willing to do any job that needed doing and go the extra mile to ensure that people received their food parcels. We honour Colin for all the amazing work that he did for Rotherham Foodbank in supporting those in crisis within the borough of Rotherham and we will greatly miss his banter, fellowship and reports on the progress of Rotherham United.
