Record food parcels and donations in 2018-19

6th May 2019

Between 1 April 2018 and 31 March 2019, Rotherham Foodbank provided 2,162 food parcels helping 4,451 people including 1,533 children.  This was a 20% increase compared to the previous year.  The main reasons for referrals were low income, benefit delays and benefit changes.

We could only continue to meet the rising number of referrals for food parcels because of the wonderful generosity of the local community who donated  40,084 kilogrammes of food and toiletries, a 24% increase compared to last year.

A huge thankyou to everyone who has supported the Foodbank with donations or money: individuals, businesses, supermarkets, churches, mosques, schools, nurseries, groups of friends and many more.  We are also very grateful to the agencies who partner  with us to refer to people in crisis to the Foodbank.  It is a real example of the community coming together and helping each other.

Thankyou for your generosity and kindness.
